  • Know-how of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) applied to academic laboratories and hazardous waste investigations.
  • Developing, planning, and coordinating an enterprise asset management program, overseeing the maintenance and operation for all campus facilities and building services management systems including: fire protection, heating, cooling, ventilation, and plumbing systems, building automation controls, elevators, building envelope integrity, custodial services, pest control, warehouse shipping and receiving, grounds, forestry and horticulture maintenance, classroom and special event set ups, auxiliary assets rentals and the campus fleet of vehicles and equipment.
  • Providing engineering leadership, assisting with the development of the facility renewal programs to ensure that projects are well coordinated, integrated, and programmed efficiently and effectively, while collaborating with other government agencies and facility infrastructure stakeholders.
  • Applying technical and management expertise to anticipate, identify and resolve issues pertaining to the general operations, maintenance and rehabilitation/replacement of critical assets that may impact facility renewal projects.
  • Collaborating with your organization EH&S Committee, your Emergency Management Committee, and your Business Continuity Teams to develop an integrated Emergency Management Plan (ERP).
  • Collaborating with your Purchasing Department in tendering activities related to new and capital renewal projects, implementing contract management methodologies.
  • Strategizing maintenance and capital project scopes of work, determining appropriate methods of delivery, preparing project packages for approval, tender, evaluation, award, and execution.
  • Providing strategic review of Requests for Information (RFIs), Request for Quotation (RFQs), and Request for Proposals (RFPs) for professional consulting services, goods and services, and their evaluation and award, ensuring design and specifications requirements are met by the successful bidder.
  • Supporting your Purchasing Department in the coordination, preparation, and negotiation of contracts, including legal issues in the development of Facilities Services related contracts.
  • Preparing draft memorandums of understanding, draft lease agreements and liaise with contractors and other service providers.
  • Developing and maintaining project management operating procedures consistent with the PMO, helping you manage high-value construction and building contracts.
  • Assisting you and your organization with Facilities and/or Campus warehouse system, implementing robust inventory, logistics, and partnering management methods, improving processes through audits and detailed reporting, creating better logistics practices in conjunction with regional supply chain partners.
  • Designing and implementing a comprehensive array of environmental, health and safety (EH&S) programs for your facilities or campus operations, through the development and administration of a robust 4C’s strategic policy (control, communication, cooperation, & competence), cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing protocols, and the integration of OSHA/CDC with the Incident Command System (ICS) COVID EH&S Task Force (TF).
  • Assisting you and your organization resolve the deferred maintenance & renewal program by implementing innovative RCM/FMECA/RM methodologies.
  • Assisting you and your organization in the development of new Capital Profiles as part of the Campus Facility Audit and the Capital Budget Submissions for building and facility assets, meeting critical corporate goals and objectives while meeting a higher demand for sciences building space.
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of a Mid – and Long-Range Buildings Program (LRBP) in alignment with the University Campus Master Plan, ASTM Property Condition Assessments (PCA), BUILDER, Uniformat II, and APPA best practices.
  • Designing analytical reporting systems to inform senior leadership on Facilities/Assets performance, risk assessments, condition and reliability centered maintenance measures integrated to the Enterprise Asset Management Strategy.
  • Leading and overseeing the development of the facility assessment processes and the rehabilitation priorities for the 4-year Capital program, using the Facility Condition Index (FCI) between deferred maintenance and the Facility Condition Assessments (FCA) data, as a primary source for identifying decommissioning targets and diverting investment from low to high value facilities.
  • Reconfiguring and designing a new asset management system, integrating CMMS, FCI, FCA and Financial systems into one asset management solution in support to maintenance, custodial, business, and financial planning strategies.
  • Preparing the Strategic Energy Management Plan and implementing the Energy Management Program as part of an Energy Sustainability Manager role.
  • Identifying opportunities for introducing industrial (IIO), internet of things (IoT), automation & control systems operations technologies (OT) in support to predictive analytics and security systems in campus facilities. Implementation of ASHRAE and NFPA standards.
  • Identifying opportunities for introducing sustainable Arboriculture, Ecology, Biodiversity best practices to maintain natural assets.
  • Re-engineering Facilities Services Asset Management systems by conducting Facilities Inventory Surveys (FIS), mining and managing data analyses, feeding the decision-making process for evaluating the full lifecycle of buildings, infrastructure & critical assets.
  • Developing a new culture of high-performance and integration within the Facilities Services division, supporting staff performance & development, including their personal mental health & safety through online learning & remote work environments.
  • Generating behavioral solutions to common organizational and staff challenges, serving mission critical interests while developing team members at a horizontal and vertical level.
  • Applying Interdisciplinary Corporate Cognitive Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Psymetrics, Organizational Collaborative Awareness, and conscientiousness methodologies to leverage existing resources, bringing Facilities Services to a sustainable performance level.
  • Strategizing your organization capital renewal plan, management, maintenance & operations of roads & grounds, including parking lots assets.
  • Developing a strategic Procurement Management Program, ensuring the optimization of goods and services requisitions, bid solicitations, purchase order generation and follow-up processes, providing supplies and materials on Time-Quality-Budget while implementing a procurement strategy for specialty goods and services and long-term contracts.
  • Expanding and continuously developing your organization emergency management system and response plan for COVID, including essential operations & business continuity plans, communicating with students, faculty, administration, departments, and the community.
